HAB Launches Elite Programs for High School Ahtletes
New Programs: HAB Elite Boys & HAB Elite Girls

High Altitude Basketball is excited to introduce two new elite programs for high school athletes: HS Boys Elite and HS Girls Elite. These teams, made up of Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors from Steamboat Springs, Hayden, and Soroco High Schools, offer unique opportunities for local players to grow their basketball skills and compete at higher levels. With a roster of 14 boys and 9 girls, both teams are off to an exciting start, having already participated in their first tournament, with more opportunities on the horizon.
The mission of High Altitude Basketball is "Creating basketball opportunities for all." This mission is at the heart of these elite teams, providing local athletes with the chance to advance their skills and gain exposure to competitive play. By offering these programs, High Altitude Basketball is helping players transition from youth leagues to more advanced and competitive environments, preparing them for success in high school, college, and beyond.
Each team follows a structured weekly training schedule that includes three team practices, two shooting-focused sessions, and one individual skills workout. This well-rounded approach ensures that athletes develop in all areas of the game—from team strategy and communication to shooting consistency and personal skill refinement.
The HS Boys Elite and HS Girls Elite teams have already showcased their talents in their first tournament, with both squads displaying grit, potential, and strong teamwork. Their experience on the court is just the beginning, with plenty more competition ahead. The HS Boys Elite team will cap off their season with a four-day tournament in Las Vegas—an incredible opportunity to face elite competition and gain valuable exposure.
Both teams will also take part in a major milestone for the program: the High Altitude Jamboree, the first-ever local tournament hosted by High Altitude Basketball. Expected to bring in around 60 teams, the Jamboree will be a celebration of local and regional talent, and a special chance for our athletes to compete on their home turf. It also serves as a meaningful moment for team bonding, allowing players to build deeper connections and friendships that extend beyond the court.
These elite teams are more than just a place to play—they’re about growth, leadership, and community. With dedicated coaching, high-level training, and shared experiences, these athletes are building a foundation for success, on and off the court.
Stay tuned for more updates as the season progresses!
